2025-04-29T21:32:23.834ZLatest project is a silly one: I gathered all the components needed to work directly on a pi or other microcomputer into one box with fitted inserts. It's got hdmi video, audio, microusb and usb c power, and a dedicated keyboard. Now I can set up new devices on my table without a KVM.
2025-04-29T21:33:52.797ZUnfortunately no good way to share this design as a reusable project as it's very much designed around the shapes of weird leftover components I happened to have around, including that awful keyboard.
2025-04-29T21:36:42.929ZThe spine of the thing is this power strip, which you can get to without deconstructing the whole thing. The secret to this whole project was finding a way to store the power cable safely in an isolated container so it can't damage the screen.
2025-04-29T21:37:46.461ZOriginally I went for the wooden box so I could drill a slot in the side to thread the power cable through, but it actually fits in the margin, so the only drilling was to mount the cheap screen into the lid
